Kingdom Trails

Rode the Kingdom Trails in East Burke, Vermont yesterday. I got in almost 18 miles, a little over 2 hours of riding, before I started losing daylight and needed to get out of town. I wished I had more time, but that was all I could do. The pictures here don't do it justice. Fellas, these trails are amazing, the best I've ridden outside of Moab. Nothing crazy technical, just fast, flowing, fun trails. I literally had a smile on my face, or was laughing out loud on nearly every trail. For whatever reason, it also never felt like "work" riding them, even on the climbs. Very well groomed, well marked, and well laid out according to terrain. It is listed that there are over 100 miles of riding here, and I believe it based on the map I received and what I rode. That's a solid four days of riding, without going over the same trail twice. It's really that big, and that extensive. If there is ever a place that I'd like to convince everyone for our next trip, this would be it. And, did I mention they're only four hours from my house?

Check out this slightly cheesy video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6VILhWGucM

I rode most of these featured, and I'm telling you, they are even more fun riding than they look in the video. The shack in the photos is in the middle of the woods, usually open on the weekends. All sorts of tools attached to the side for mechanicals.

Maiden Voyage

WARNING - KID CONTENT

If you guys want me to pull these off just let me know.  We hit the Current for a quick overnight this past weekend.   Round Spring to Two Rivers, 18 miles, camped on a bar just above Bee Bluff.   Lots of bow shots.  Muskrats, Bald Eagles, Golden Eagles, wild horses (look closely), etc.  FYI, I drank two beers total, one on each day, while firmly planted on a gravel bar.   And, twice I walked the canoe around anything that was even remotely "strainerish". Super safe, tons of fun.
